VIMKUNYA helps protect almost everyone from chikungunya by 3 weeks,
with 98% of people ages 12-64 and 87% of people 65+ developing an immune response.

In fact, most had developed a response by Day 15 (97% for people 12-64 and 82% for people 65+).

Results showed most people (86% for ages 12-64 and 76% for ages 65+) still had a response at 6 months, so you can help protect yourself on longer trips, add an extra destination, or even get vaccinated a few months in advance.

Virus-like particles, or VLPs, are a modern way to create recombinant vaccines.

Instead of using any viral genetic material, VLP technology uses protein particles to mimic the structure of live viruses.

These protein particles self-assemble around a central structure, into a shape that resembles the virus.

Once inside the body, the virus-like shape triggers an immune response, teaching our immune system how to react if the real virus attacks— but with no risk of infecting cells or causing disease.

WHAT MAKES VIMKUNYA DIFFERENT

VIMKUNYA is a virus-like
particle (VLP) vaccine and contains NO viral genetic material

VIMKUNYA is a VLP vaccine that mimics the chikungunya virus without ever exposing your body to the live virus.
Since VIMKUNYA does not contain any viral genetic material, it's not infectious.
